The positions of the Armenian Armed Forces in Nagorno-Karabakh were attacked by Azerbaijani forces with the participation of special forces units of the Turkish Armed Forces, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“On the site of the villages of Khtsaberd, Old Taglar, our positions were attacked yesterday by Azerbaijani units. According to some reports, Turkish special forces units participated in the attack, ”Pashinyan said at an extraordinary meeting of the Security Council.
According to him, the attack took place when the Russian peacekeepers had not yet had time to deploy in this area.
Pashinyan noted that as a result of the ensuing battle, there are six wounded from the Armenian side.
“After the outbreak of hostilities, a small unit of Russian peacekeepers arrived at this place, after which the fighting stopped, but some of the villages of Khtsaberd and Old Taglar came under the control of Azerbaijani units. This morning, larger forces of Russian peacekeepers entered this territory, now the situation is relatively stable, ”he said.
In his words, in accordance with the trilateral statement on Karabakh, these villages should remain under Armenian control.
We are talking about the Karabakh region, which in Armenia is called Hadrut, and in Azerbaijan - Khojavend.
In connection with the situation in this region, Baku stated that Azerbaijan is conducting a special operation there.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that Russian peacekeepers did not record cases of violation of the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.
