Erdogan said that he will not forget Trump’s “impolite” letter

ANKARA, October 18 - RIA News. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that he would not forget the letter he received from his American colleague Donald Trump, “which has nothing to do with politeness,” but now this issue is not on the agenda.

Trump sent on October 9, the day the Turkish operation in Syria began, a letter to Erdogan asking him not to play the fool and not to let the whole world down with a military operation in the SAR.
Of course, we did not forget Trump's letter, which has nothing to do with politeness. But our mutual respect does not allow us to keep this issue on the agenda. We do not give this priority. However, when the time comes, what is needed will be done.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan
President of Turkey

On October 9, Erdogan announced the start of Operation Source of Peace in northern Syria against the Kurdistan Workers Party and the Islamic State terrorist group * banned in Turkey *. Syrian authorities have repeatedly condemned the occupation policy of Turkey in northern Syria. Russia stated that Turkey needs to avoid actions that could stand in the way of resolving the Syrian conflict, which has been ongoing since 2011.

Erdogan and  US Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday agreed to suspend 120 hours of Turkish operation in Syria to withdraw Syrian Kurdish self-defense forces from the border with Turkey. Pence said the agreement implies the withdrawal of Kurdish forces from the 30-kilometer security zone on the Turkish-Syrian border and that the United States will facilitate this process. The US vice president noted that US troops would not return to the area.
