The
former Nigerian aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, paid a visit to
the devastated home of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Nigerian separatist group,
the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).
The
former minister, who was accompanied by Mr. Kanu's lawyer and many others to
Umuahia in the southeast of the country, condemned the attack on the family
home by the Nigerian army, adding that "everyone has the right to
self-determination." He called for the release of the IPOB leader, who is
reportedly in the custody of the military.
