COVID-19 vaccination begins. As it will be?

The regions are preparing for a large-scale vaccination against coronavirus on behalf of the president. Vaccination centers in Moscow will start working this weekend; an electronic registration is now open. The procedure is free for Russians and voluntary, at first those who are at risk can go through it. We tell you what is known at the moment.

Who will get the vaccine first?

The list of priority groups were doctors and teachers, the government is evaluating the possibility of its

expansion. Earlier, the Ministry of Health also recommended vaccinating

trade and service workers, police officers, conscripts, students and schoolchildren, social security

workers, catering and other organizations whose work is associated with direct

contact with a large number of people (hotels, hairdressers, dry cleaners, banks, security companies and others ).

The decision to vaccinate the elderly may appear a few months after the results of drug studies on this

category of people are received, said Vadim Tarasov, director of the Institute of Translational

Medicine and Biotechnology of the Sechenov University of the Russian Ministry of Health.

Vaccine trials among children may begin in May-June 2021.

What will be inoculated?

Doctors will administer an injection of the Russian drug Sputnik V. Tests, which are still ongoing,

have shown that after vaccination, volunteers develop a sustained immune response to COVID-19. The

developers themselves claim that Sputnik V is 95% effective if the patient receives a second

injection (vaccination is carried out in two stages, the interval between them is 21 days).

Immunity to coronavirus can last up to two years after the procedure, but it all depends on the
individual characteristics of the body, scientists warn.
3
What are the contraindications?

Citizens aged 18 to 60 will be able to vaccinate  if they do not have a high temperature (37 ° C or more).

Before the procedure, the patient should be examined by a health worker who needs to be informed

about existing chronic diseases, other vaccinations and when they had ARVI. Based on these data, a

decision on vaccination will be made. For example, it is recommended to get vaccinated against

coronavirus and flu with a break of three weeks.

Also, according to the instructions for the drug, vaccinations are contraindicated for pregnant and

lactating women in case of severe allergic reactions in history and hypersensitivity to  any component of

 the vaccine.

4
Can I get infected due to vaccination?

It's impossible, scientists say.

The antigens used in the vaccine that trigger immune responses prevent you from getting covid.
Vadim Tarasov
Director of the Institute of Translational Medicine and Biotechnology, Sechenov University, Ministry

               of Health of Russia

A person can become infected with coronavirus in the period between the introduction of the first and

second doses of the vaccine, since at this time there is still no stable immunity . As a rule, it is

produced approximately on the 42nd day after the first injection, said earlier the developer of the

Sputnik V vaccine, director of the NF Gamaleya Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry

of Health of Russia Alexander Gintsburg.

5
Where can I get vaccinated?

At special points for vaccination against COVID-19. They will be opened in Moscow on December 5.

On the basis of city adult polyclinics, 70 vaccination points will work daily from 08:00 to 20:00.

It is necessary to register for the procedure, while the electronic registration is available for the capital's

education workers, healthcare workers of all forms of ownership, as well as for employees of the city's

social services. You will need to confirm the fact of work in the relevant organization, as well as present

a passport and an OMS policy.

The capital reports that the vaccination process will take at least an hour.

It takes 10 minutes for a preliminary examination by a doctor, about 15 minutes for preparing the drug

(the vaccine is stored frozen), another 30 minutes for observation after vaccination.

6
What are the side effects?

Some participants in the Sputnik V clinical trials reported fever up to 38 degrees, redness at the injection

site, headache and muscle discomfort. As a rule, all this takes place within a day.
