Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan proposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a working group to find a solution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was announced by the Turkish TV channel with reference to its sources. It became known how Ankara and Moscow will resolve this issue.
Russia and Turkey have agreed on bilateral cooperation on Nagorno-Karabakh, CNN Turk TV channel reported. According to journalists, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan proposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a Russian-Turkish working group to resolve the conflict.
As a "diplomatic source" told the Turkish TV channel, after the talks between the presidents, the foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey also held telephone talks. It was agreed that, within the framework of the bilateral format, the parties will work on measures to be taken after the conclusion of the armistice. In addition, Russia and Turkey will develop measures to conduct a political settlement process.
Let us remind you that since October 10, Baku and Yerevan have tried three times to agree on a ceasefire for the exchange of wounded, prisoners and bodies of the dead. However, the parties failed to achieve a sustainable ceasefire. On October 27, Putin and Erdogan held a telephone conversation, during which the Russian leader informed his colleague about the steps being taken to de-escalate the crisis.
Earlier, Turkey has already expressed its desire to join the process of resolving the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to Erdogan, the OSCE Minsk Group has not achieved results on this issue, at the same time, Ankara and Moscow are successfully working together in Syria and Libya. “I hope we will be able to take the right steps on Karabakh and finally solve this problem,” he said on 23 October.
