Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain has issued the so-called royal assent to the bill on the future relations between Great Britain and the EU, which means the entry into force of the bill.
This was announced on Thursday night by the Speaker of the House of Commons of the British Parliament Lindsay Hoyle.
Thus, the United Kingdom has completed the ratification process for its trade and cooperation agreement with the EU, which was reached on 24 December and will determine the terms of relations between London and Brussels from 1 January 2021.
On New Year's Eve, the so-called transitional period will cease to operate for countries and the Brexit, approved by the British in the 2016 referendum, will be finally implemented: the country will leave the single market and the EU customs union.
