High Court in Owerri, the Imo state capital, has struck out a suit
seeking to stop the inauguration of Imo State Governor-elect, Emeka
Ihedioha, on Wednesday, May 29th.
The governorship candidiate of the Democratic Alternative party in
the state, Clifford Eze, had approached the court, seeking an an order
to stop Ihedioha from being sworn in as the next governor of the state.
Eze in his court paper, argued that he won the March 9th governorship
election.

lacked the power to preside over a post-election matter. He subsequently
awarded a N5m cost against the plaintiff.
