Chinedu
Udoji died after he had a car crash on February 18, 2018.
The family of deceased Kano Pillars
player Chinedu Udoji have received a cash gift of N3m from the Kano State
government.
Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje on Saturday,
April 7 awarded the family of Udoji the cash gift as he consoled them on their
loss.
Udoji passed away on Sunday, February
18 following a match between Kano
Pillars and Enyimba in the Nigerian Professional Football League
(NPFL).
Udoji was in action for Pillars against his old club Enyimba
for all 90 minutes and put in a man of the match performance as the game ended
in a 1-1 draw.
After the league encounter, Udoji went to visit his former
Enyimba teammates after which he had an unfortunate car crash that led to his
death.
Kano Pillars posted a picture of the Governor, his aides as well as the family members of the late Udoji as they were presented with the cash gift for the incident.
A message accompanying the picture said, “The family of Late Chinedu Udoji received a donation of N3 million in cash from the Governor of Kano State,”
Udoji spent seven players playing for Enyimba where he won several titles including the NPFL before his move to Kano Pillars.
The defenders' death came as shock to the Nigerian football family as he was mourned by both sets of clubs as well as the whole league.
